Rym Belhaj

Sustainability and Energetic Transition Expert

Rym Belhaj is an independent consultant and project manager with expertise in energy transition and sustainability. 

After studying engineering at the INSA in Lyon and a master’s degree in strategy and organisation at ESCP Europe, Rym began her career in 2008 at Capgemini Consulting in Paris and has had the opportunity to work for a number of organisations in different sectors: Banking, Energy, Industry, Public Sector, Insurance and Services. 

After 4 years, she moved to Morocco and joined CLEAN TECH, a firm specialising in energy, water and the environment, a forerunner in these fields in the Kingdom. She strengthened the portfolio of activities and clients, and developed a new range of services, including assistance to project managers for energy efficiency and renewable energy projects and support for ISO 50 001 certification.  

In 2013, she co-founded one of the first companies in Morocco dedicated to the integration of energy saving and renewable energy solutions, then in 2015, a JV with a French group, designer and manufacturer of LED lighting. With these activities, she participates in the control and reduction of energy bills of large industrial groups, hoteliers and players in the tertiary sector.  

From 2016, in parallel to these activities in energy services and after having set up operational teams, she acts as an independent consultant for private sector companies and for large public institutions.  

For example, she has the pleasure of accompanying the Services of the Head of Government and works in particular on issues of territorial governance, energy governance and in the framework of Morocco’s commitments to the Sustainable Development Goals. 

In 2020, it is assisting the Economic, Social and Environmental Council in assessing the energy system and developing recommendations to accelerate Morocco’s energy transition and to anchor the country in green and inclusive growth.   

In 2021, she moved to Paris and joined an international firm specialising in energy transition where she managed strategic development projects for energy companies, decarbonisation projects and sustainability projects to assess and control carbon risks. 

Since a few months, she is working again as an independent consultant and works with prestigious institutions to accelerate and enhance climate action and helps organisations to seize the opportunities of the energy transition while controlling the related risks. 

Finally, Rym is a member of associations in the field of sustainability and gender development in the economy.
